Borno State Sickle Cell Care Foundation (BSCCF)
We are a dedicated non-profit organization committed to providing care, support, and awareness for individuals affected by sickle cell disease in Borno State.
Genotype test being one of the most ignored premarital test especially in Borno state, which causes an alarming emergence of incompatible couples getting married and given births to sickle cell patients annually in hospitals is now a public health concern. The establishment of the BORNO SICKLE CELL CARE FOUNDATION (BSCCF) was initiated by these factors and many more. The foundation is also serving as the voice of many voiceless sickle cell survivors in Borno state

Our Agenda
Over the years, BSCCF has served numerous individuals and families affected by sickle cell disease in Borno State, providing them with critical resources and emotional support. Our outreach extends to communities, ensuring awareness and education are paramount
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The main aim of the foundation is to create sickle cell awareness mainly on it management and prevention, and to support the sickle cell patients, most especially the less privileges among its members, as it is known to be cost effective in terms of its treatments and diagnosis, and as such, it engages various socio-economic and political activities for the well-being of the Borno state sickle cell patients. Other objectives of the foundation include;
- To document a data base of all sickle cell survivors in Borno state and ensure they have access to affordable health care services.
- To liaise with stake holders in creating sickle cell awareness since it affects the whole community
- To Initiate preconception screening project for the people of Borno state
